End of March

Well time is marching (no pun intended) ahead with great pace and like the previous blog mentioned, things are finally getting done. The huge todo list is starting to get smaller and is giving me the chance to catch my breath slowly and get focused on my future. I am sitting here
writing this at on my last day in my SetSquared offices, which has been a great experience over the last four months and I have learnt alot. I will now be working much more from home and the studio (where I was spending a lot of time anyway).

All the film work has been finished and as I mentioned before, I will be posting links to the sites and films as soon as my new site is ready. Not 100% sure when this is going to be as I am trying to fit in some bits and pieces of contract work which are helping me to keep going at
the moment. Needless to say I am very excited about the new site and I can't wait to get it up there.

I have my MSc graduation tomorrow which is something to look forward too, and I am then off to Amsterdam with Jenny for a week which I am also really looking forward too. April is looking like a great month. We are then going away for a few days hiking in the North of England, and
then after that there is Dead by Dawn, which I am really really looking forward too (if you are reading this Hal....sorry that you can't make it, we will all be thinking of you...I'll have to blog after each film to fill you in!)

Keep your eyes peeled...things are about to get exciting!

Peace

Getting there.

Yep slowly slowly I am finally clearing most of the work I have to do
(sadly mostly unpaid at the moment) and am getting to a point where I
can start focusing on my projects once again. Although having said that
it looks like I will be having to dip my toe back in to the employment
market for a short time to overcome a few cash flow problems. But it
will be great to have the ability to stop worrying about income for a
brief period and focus on getting to where I need to be. I have many new
projects a foot and obviously in the planning stages. As I keep
promising, there will be a brand new update to this site. I have been
working on this in the background and it is starting to take shape. The
idea is that it is more community orientated and give me the ability to
add loads more stuff in a more logical manner.

On top of that, I now (finally) own lightb4sound.com, not much there at
the moment, but I am also close to finish a new website as well. I have
a number of tracks also pretty much finished for the new CD 11:53, which
I am planning to release in June.

I am also holding back at the moment with all the new pieces for my
showreel which I haven't posted for a while, along with links to all the
films I have been working on recently. Watch this space is all i can say.

In terms of course, I am sadly approching the end of the Compose and
Perform course, which has been fantastic and I also have a number of
performances of my compositions which I will post in due course. Sadly I
have had to withdraw from the OU AA314 course as it was just too much to
ask right now and I just don't have the time (16hrs + a week), plus I am
due a break from studying i think! I have also sadly now finished Music
for the Media, which was one of the best thing I ever decided to do, I
have learn so much and it as also helped me focus on where I want to go
in the big world of film. I will be posting my final assignments some
time soon as well (well when the new site is done).

So pretty much positive, spring is here....lets see what happens

Peace

March already!

And where does the time go?

Yes it has been a while since I last blogged, but I am still alive (just!) and thought it is crucial for an update here. I have been kept busy working on a number of short film projects, and I will be posting links to them here very soon.(Once that have been finished 100%). I have also been very busy with the various course I am on, and tidying up lots of loose end.

I am about to have a big studio clear out, with loads of gear to go. I realised I am surround by so much stuff, that just isn't being used any more. Whilst it looks great, I could do with the cash. I also think limiting yourself to a few key items ensures that productivity goes up.

Anyway, I am still here and watch this space. There will be a whole raft of updates coming in the next few weeks, including a redesigned main site, links to the projects I have been working on, some new video clips and photos and much more.

I am keeping them all underwraps until I have the new site 100% completed.

Peace

Neil
